MLB Matchups

The baseball season runs for six months and provides players with more wagering opportunities than any other sport. With 30 teams in the MLB, there is always a game going on. Most days, you’ll have multiple MLB matchups going on at once. Usually, you get up to five or six games a day, every day, which can be incredibly hard to keep track of.

To help you keep track of all the MLB matchups you want to wager on, we provide a constantly refreshing line up of the daily games. Here, you’ll be able to find who is playing whom, what time they’re playing, and where the game is. You’ll also be able to find game lines for all of these MLB matchups at the online sportsbooks we recommend.

Current MLB Matchups

Every team in the MLB plays a total of 162 games in a season. With 30 Major League teams, that’s literally thousands of MLB matchups just during the regular season. This gives players plenty of opportunities to stretch their wings and bet on baseball as much as they want. But it can be hard keeping track of who plays who when, so we provide a schedule of all the current MLB matchups for the day. This site will always have every MLB matchup listed right here, along with sportsbooks that will have lines on all of those.

How To Bet On Baseball

Whether you’re new to the world of baseball betting or old hat, you know there’s no point in keeping track of all the MLB matchups going on if you don’t know how to bet on baseball. To help with that, we’ve provided a list of popular wager types that will help you learn how to bet on baseball or just help you switch your betting game up.

Moneyline – As with every sport that can be bet on, you can wager on the moneyline. For this bet, you choose which team will be the winner of an MLB matchup.

Runline – This is considered the spread for baseball. Most every runline is set at 1.5 points. You can seek out an alternative runline at most sportsbooks, with different odds for the 1.5 line (1.5 at +200/-215, etc) or a different line entirely (like 2.5 at +/-110).

Total – You can bet on how many runs will be scored in a single game. This isn’t just the total from one team, it’s the total points scored in an MLB matchup.

First Five Innings – In baseball, betting on the first five innings is the baseball equivalent of first half bats. A lot of people who enjoy betting on the first five innings do it because they only have to rely on the starting pitcher rather than relying on a team’s relievers and closers. You can bet on first five innings runlines, totals, etc. basically everything you can bet on for the full game can be wagered on.

Futures/Props – With a futures bet, you can bet on who will win a series, championship, or any other event in the future. Props will allow you to bet on individual components of the game rather than on the game as a whole. You can bet on pitch counts, who will win the Cy Young award, things like that.

These are the most popular ways to bet on MLB matchups. There are, of course, many more ways to bet on a baseball game. Online sportsbooks each have their own offerings when it comes to betting on Professional baseball games. For the best lines on all MLB matchups, check out the books recommended below. FAQ
What Does ATS Mean?

ATS means against the spread. This is a record of how many times a team has been able to cover the spread they’ve been given. In Baseball, the spread is represented by something called the runline, but the record of whether or not they cover that line is still called ATS.

What Is A Runline In Baseball?

In baseball, a runline is a version of the point spread. The Runline is almost always set at 1.5, meaning that the favorite has to win by at least two runs and the dog has to either lose by one run or win the game outright to cover the runline.

What Is SU?

If you see SU in a stats book, it means Straight Up. This is the number of games that have been won or lost outright, regardless of point spreads. It’s basically telling you what the team’s record is. It is a good tool to compare to an ATS stat.

What Does Juice Mean?

Juice is the cut that the sportsbook takes in order to maintain a profit. Juice is also referred to as Vigorish, or vig for short. Juice is usually ten percent of your stake, but some books offer reduced juice, meaning they take less so that you can keep more. Juice is taken at every sportsbook, so you won’t really get around that.

What Does BB Mean?

If you see a two teams matched up with BB next to their name, it means that they are playing back to back games. Either on consecutive days or a double header, back to back games will almost always be denoted in sportsbooks, so that you can make your bets accordingly.

Should I Bet On The First Five Innings Or The Whole Game?

Choosing to bet on the first five innings or the whole game depends on who you’re betting on and how confident you feel. Betting on the first five innings is like making a bet on the first half of a game. It is usually done on teams that have a great starter but might have an unreliable closer. It is also done on games that the bettor might only be able to catch the first half of. Moneylines and runlines can be bet on for just the first five innings, instead of the whole game, as can pitching props. Really, it's up to you whether you want to bet on the first five innings or the whole game.

Can I Have More Than One Sportsbook Account?

You can have more than one sportsbook. There’s no written rule that says that you can only have one. Furthermore, we think you should have multiple sportsbooks. Having more than one account allows you the greatest selection of games to bet on. It also provides you with the opportunity to choose your odds. Different books use different handicappers, so while they do occasionally have the same betting odds, most of the time, you’ll find different ones. If you’re positive that the Red Sox are going to win a game and they’re +100 at one book and +140 at another, why wouldn’t you choose the one with +140 odds? That’s a much better payout. Having multiple accounts just gives you multiple opportunities and adds even more convenience to whatever you’re betting on.
